Beef Stroganoff is one of the most popular of current trending foods on earth. It is enjoyed by millions every day. It’s easy, it is quick, it tastes delicious. They are fine and they look fantastic. Beef Stroganoff is something that I’ve loved my entire life.

This recipe uses a roux to create a beef gravy that is then thickened with sour cream AND cream cheese. A little bit of zip is added using pepper flakes. With its tender chunks of beef coated in a luscious creamy sauce and served over a bed of buttery noodles, it's no wonder Beef Stroganoff is such a hit. With all that flavor, you might assume it's a complicated dish, but it's actually quite the opposite.

The ingredients needed to make Beef Stroganoff:
  1. Take 12 oz egg noodles
  2. Take 1/4 cup gluten-free flour (or regular flour)
  3. Take 1 1/4 lbs beef tenderloin tips, 1/2 inch thick (or stew meat)
  4. Prepare 1/4 cup butter, divided
  5. Take 12 oz canned button mushrooms, sliced (can also use fresh)
  6. Take 10 1/2 oz beef broth
  7. Get 2 tbsp tomato paste
  8. Take 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  9. Take 1 cup sour cream

With a few flavor-building tips, you're only an hour away from. Then add the chopped cornichons and stir to. Add the cream of mushroom soup and beef broth. Adjust seasoning to taste, adding salt and pepper, as needed.

Steps to make Beef Stroganoff:
  1. Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain. Keep warm.
  2. Place flour in a large ziploc bag. Add beef to bag. Shake to coat well. Can add a little extra flour, if needed.
  3. Melt 2 tbsp of butter in large skillet. Add beef to skillet. Cook until all pieces are brown on all sides.
  4. Transfer beef & pan juices to a bowl & set aside.
  5. Melt remaining butter in skillet. Add mushrooms & cook until heated through. If using fresh will need to cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in broth, tomato paste, & worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil, scraping up any browned bits on bottom of skillet.
  6. Return beef & juices to skillet. Cook until sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. Stir in sour cream until hot.
  7. Serve over noodles.

Add the cream of mushroom soup and beef broth. Adjust seasoning to taste, adding salt and pepper, as needed. Stir in the sour cream the last few minutes, right before you serve. This version maintains all the classic flavors of the traditional dish, combining lean beef and onions with a creamy sauce made of a roux, beef broth, and sour cream. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and brown the beef strips quickly, then push the beef strips off to one side.
